Saturday 19 May 2012 Chorister Open Day
Join the choristers and their families for an afternoon of music and fun, finding out about the life of a New College Chorister.
Listen to the choristers sing, dress up and sing in the choir stalls, explore the chapel and Cloisters, have tea and games.
This is a unique opportunity for parents to observe at first hand the unique musical education that the choristers enjoy. The director of the choir, Professor Edward Higginbottom will open the afternoon with a brief introduction, and invite questions. The headmaster of the school and his music staff are also on hand to talk to parents about New College School, which offers generous bursaries to all choristers. Over one of New College's famous teas, current choir parents will welcome visitors and talk about the choir community.
The afternoon finishes with a special Evensong in chapel at which all visitors are welcome.
